Whiteout Ear Muffs

I am not a fan of these Whiteout/Lush Ear Muffs. I have been purchasing Turtle Fur products for years, and I LOVE Turtle Fur, and these are the first products from Turtle Fur that I’m disappointed with. I’ll try to articulate what I think the problem is with these ear muffs. First: Imagine if you had a piece of rigid cardboard or rigid plastic, and you cut in in the shape of a disc (large enough to cover your ear), and then you covered it in a cozy material. But you could still feel the rigid disc through the material, which lessens the cozy feel of the ear muff. So that is one issue. The next issue is that because of the rigidity of the disc that is under the material, which is supposed to cover the ears: The ear muffs never really cover your ears. Imagine if you placed a piece of stiff cardboard or plastic over your ear for warmth. The cold air is still going to touch your ear, because the material is flat and can’t really cradle your ear in warmth. That’s the best way I can describe the quality and design of these ear muffs. I hope that this description and review are helpful to people. The quality of the entire design of these ear muffs seems really cheap. I spend a lot of time in Lake Tahoe, and these, sadly, will not be going with me on Tahoe trips. That said: I still love Turtle Fur! The first day I wore my earmuffs, the temperatures were in the single digits and the wind was gusting. My ears are extremely sensitive to the cold and I was stunned at how cozy and warm my ears felt regardless of how long I was outside. These earmuffs worked better than any hat I've ever worn. So much so that I immediately bought 2 more sets in different colors. The folks who say they seem to fit tight/run small are correct, but my head and ears are a bit on the smaller side for an average adult and they work perfectly for me. These have become my new favorite, "must have" item for winter.
